1.)Born in Lebanon Connecticut, on June 6, 1756, he was the son of Jonathan Trumbull, the only colonial Royal Governor to embrace the patriot cause.

2.)His mother was Faith Robinson, a descendant of Pilgrim leader John Robinson.

3.)He was also the first American painter to have a college education, being a graduate of Harvard, entering the class of 1773 in the Junior Year at the age of age fifteen.

4.)John trumbull is known for his portraits and history paintings of the leaders and events of the fAmerican Revolution.

5.)John Trumbulls father was a sucessful merchant, patriot, and colonial Royal Governor. John Trumbull later returned to the united states in the fall og 1789.

6.)For four years following he traveled leaving a trail of paintings behind him, all along the east coast. in 1794, his cousin who he had wanted to marry later died her name was Harrier wadsworth.

7.)After this devasting event, in 1800 he picked up his painting career again and married Sarah Hope Harvey.

8.)Him and his wife then decided to take a small trip. He and his wife returned back to America at the end of the War of 1812.

9.)Johnathan Trumbull died in New York at the age of eighty-seven in the year of 1843.

10.)Before dieing herecieved a comission for four large history paintings for the Rotunda of the United States capital in Washington.

11.)Now John Trumbull is remembered in history as a patriot a title by which only honorable people are awarded and John was most deffinately honorable when he was alive and today!
